A man, smart enough to get $3 mil, is not goin' to drive off & leave a truck bed full of drugs in B'More. If he was dumb enough to keep it anywhere close to him or his family, he was slippin' anyway!
When the news, originally announced it they said that they found it in the house. I automatically assumed it was the stash house. Not Murphy's spot. That's the rule! And they weren't payin' attention! The Police version sounds sketchy to me.
