Born in Ocala, Florida Tanya Monroe first fell in love with the genre of Hip Hop after first hearing Run DMC. While instantly becoming mesmerized with their lyrics and charisma she spent her first paycheck on a stereo system that could feed the soul of Hip Hop that lived inside of her. While listening to artists such as LL Cool J, Doug E. Fresh, Slick Rick, and R&B sensation New Edition it wasn't a person or single entity that attracted Tanya to Hip Hop, it was the lifestyle and culture itself. It wasn't until her second daughter, T Monet, came to her at the age of five requesting to enter various talent shows that she began her career as an artist manager. From there her first client, T Monet, became the youngest member of Radio Disney's Pop group RD Frequency. The group went on to open for acts such as Raven Simone and B5. Later her eldest daughter, female emcee Ms Proper, also requested her skills as a manager. After years of hard work, dedication, and opening for many major recording artists Tanya Monroe landed an audition spot for Ms Proper in front of Pat Charles of BET's 106 & Park. After a grueling audition and selection process Tanya Monroe and Ms Proper found themselves backstage at BET for Ms Proper's national television debut. While traveling to Atlanta, Georgia to shoot an episode of an upcoming television show where Tanya was selected to join the round table discussion she met R&B Platinum singer Dave Tolliver from the group Men At Large. From there the two conversed and she was presented with an opportunity to join Tolliver's management team. With three artists under her belt, as well as being the Manager/Publicist for the Online Magazine created by Basic Principal- Official Feature, Tanya Monroe dreams to one day own a consultant company to advise independent artists on how to take their career to the next level.
