T.I. on 'Trouble & Triumph', Challenges, David Ritz's Skills [TheBoomBox Interview]

"I've always been the young guy who was groomed by the older guy," T.I. tells The BoomBox of the similar characteristics he shares with Power, a character in his new book, Trouble & Triumph. "And I always found myself developing a lot quicker than they expected me to, mentally at least."

The rapper-turned-author's novel, out today, continues where his 2011 read Power & Beauty left off. David Ritz, who's written biographies on Ray Charles, Smokey Robinson, Aretha Franklin and Marvin Gaye, among others, helped T.I. pen both efforts.

T.I. Announces 'Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head' Release Date on 106 & Park

T.I. stopped by 106 & Park yesterday to catch fans up on everything that he's been up to recently. Tip was proud to announce that his probation would be coming to an end on September 29, the same day the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards will be taped in Atlanta.

He revealed that the new release date of his upcoming album Trouble Man: Heavy Is The Head, which will be released on December 18th. He will be working with Cee Lo Green, Andre 3000, DJ Toomp and Pharrell Williams on the project. He also spoke on his new book Trouble & Triumph, available today!

T.I. on His New VH1 Reality Show [Daily Beast Interview]

T.I. freely admits he’s not a big fan of most reality shows, yet he does in fact have his own VH1 reality show. But that’s a completely different ball game, according to the rapper. In a recent interview with TheDailyBeast, Tip spoke about the differences in other reality television shows compared to his own show.

“I did a reality show to give people an idea of who I really am,” said the Grammy-winning rapper. “I wanted my fans to see what my life and my family’s life was actually like apart from all the rumors they see on the blogs and in the news.

T.I. Nominated For 'Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse' at 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards

Wiz snagged a nomination for Sweet 16: Best Featured Verse at this year's 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards, with his verse on "Magic"! The award show will take place in Atlanta, Saturday, September 29, and will air on October 9.
