While most spent this Memorial Day weekend at BBQs, the beach or in the club, T.I. spent his behind bars. But he also found a way to give back. Tip, who is currently incarcerated at the Forrest City Correctional Facility in Forrest City, Arkansas, in the midst of an 11-month bid for a probation violation after an L.A. drug arrest, sponsored a bus trip for the 46 family members of 14 fellow inmates to visit the prison.

"I've been blessed to receive tons and tons of mail from my fans, family and friends, as well as get visits on a regular basis. Unfortunately some guys aren't as fortunate," T.I. said in a statement obtained by MTV News. "There are a lot of good dudes in here that haven't been able to see there loved ones in years. Their families can't afford the trip so I wanted to help out."

much respect to you TIP... i can always respect a human being that gives and does not want anything in return ! something that i practice myself, so its good to see that others are willing to do the same!

They can lock you up but they can’t take your integrity and humbleness away!!! This is something you didn’t have to do and you gained nothing from it but YOU did it anyway. I salute you TIP….

Ur a good manTip!! like they say all the good guys are locked up! My husband is in federal in Tx. He is 400 miles away from home now! we have 6 kids! i try to visit monthly. He is only allowed 5 visitors at a time so each trip i can only take half the kids! But with gas the way it is we havent been in months! And i dont work so money is real tight! but im doing it!! Keep doing the great things u do! The world needs more peeps like you! My husband ALWAYS helped his family & friends...now that he has been locked up the friends all disappeared!! I guess you find out who is the real friends when things like this happen!! Keep ur head held high and ur chest out!! You have been blessed in so many ways!! Thanks for all that u do!! I know the inmates thank you!!

That is definitely a blessing. "One life @a time," understanding that you can't change the world and accepting that, yet still doing what little you can to make big differences in the lives of people around you. That can only be done by someone w/a pure heart. Honestly "I would do the time for TIP myself" if I could. Signed MLO

If what TIP did inspires you to help someone in prison check out prison fellowship ministry at www.pfm.net to see how you can get involved.

"To See a Love One" is this a charity or a just because bus trip that was given to these families. I thought that was pretty awesome what you did for these families. God Bless you!

That's awesome! It can really add up when you have regular visitations and that's even in the same state. I couldn't imagine having to go to a different state to visit my friend; I would never be able to see him. There are so many guys that have no one, not even someone to write with to try to help keep them sane. We are their key to the outside... Someone to think about about or spend time with on visitations and for a moment you can almost forget where you are. But even when it hits after they're gone that you're still there, it's still better knowing you have someone on the outside holding it all down. I wish I had the money, I would sponsor people around this area... I only have to drive 2 hours to see my friend but at visitations you get to know some of the otha girls as you are getting processed and waiting for your man/friend... and I have met many that have to drive for endless hours then turn around and go home... I wish they had a discounted hotel, near all the different camps, that solely house inmates families. T... You're awesome in every sense of the word; you are truly blessed and continue to share those blessing with everyone around you. Keep it up :D I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next :) - RedHott

God had blessed you with love beyond measure, wealth, humility and a generous heart that transcends time, bars and all barriers. In this life, it's not what you take up, it's what you give up that makes you rich. Stay strong and continue to share your blessings with those of us who are in need.

Much Love,
Ditto

I was just writing to inquire on how to get on the list for IF T.I. does another "TO SEE A LOVED ONE" bus to a correctional facility. I fall into that statistic and my soon to be six year old daughter has only seen her father 3 times and that was bewtween 13 and 16mos of age. He doesnt get released from a MN facility until Dec. 2012 (and I am in TN). Please keep me informed.
